Camp History

An idea can happen anywhere and it just so happened that the concept for Camp on the Move was developed in a charter bus on a field trip with middle schoolers!

Ronda was a teacher and Debi was a parent on a school-funded field trip. They just happened to be seated next to one another and the summer camp magic began! Ronda had looked into summer daycares for her daughter Ellary and was unimpressed! As a teacher, she knew that her students loved field trips, so why not make every day of the summer a field trip?

Debi agreed and added that she always felt sorry for the older kids left in her daycare for the entire summer.

Our goal is to provide a unique and spectacular experience for our campers.  We look forward to the 2010 summer season, presenting the ultimate adventure in summer camps, employment for teachers, high school and college students, and service to our community.

Debi and Ronda have recently formed the Camp on the Move Children's Foundation which supports Children's Charities of Austin through the Austin Community Foundation.
